Serving Chicago, Illinois, Michigan, & Florida with Compassionate Care

Healing happens when you feel safe enough to be fully human.

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that healing is not just cognitive, it is emotional, relational, and deeply connected to the body. I blend evidence-based cognitive psychotherapy with somatic, mindful, and body-based practices including yoga, meditation, movement, and parts-work therapy to support clients navigating trauma, anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, people-pleasing, maternal mental health challenges, and nervous system dysregulation.

Rather than forcing clients into one rigid approach, I allow the therapeutic relationship to guide the work. I bring both clinical expertise and genuine human connection into the therapy room, creating a space where clients feel deeply seen and heard while gaining practical tools, emotional insight, and greater connection to themselves both inside and outside of therapy.

How It Works

A collaborative process rooted in trust, connection, and growth.

  • We begin with a brief 15-minute consultation call to ensure we are a good fit and to answer any initial questions you may have. If it feels aligned, we’ll schedule your first full intake session.

  • In our intake session, we begin building rapport, clarifying your goals, and completing a biopsychosocial assessment to understand the full context of what you’re experiencing. Together, we begin outlining a personalized direction for therapy.

  • We meet weekly or bi-weekly to support you in working toward your goals through an integrative, trauma-informed approach. Sessions focus on emotional processing, nervous system regulation, practical tools, insight, and developing a deeper sense of self-trust and connection in your daily life.

Meet Rickie Kostiner

I’m a licensed psychotherapist with over sixteen years of combined clinical, academic, and wellness experience, including thousands of hours teaching yoga. I believe connection is central to healing and that every person has an innate capacity for resilience, growth, and meaningful change. I hold degrees from Brown University and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. Outside the therapy room, you’ll usually find me with my daughters, coffee in hand, spending time in nature, or moving my body, daily practices that help keep me grounded in the work I do.
